My wife and I think it's fitting for us with so much we harm ourselves through sloth and gluttony to
contribute to those with nothing, especially kids; eventually we hope QFE can make a difference - the symmetry would be
awesome. If you think QFE is doing a good thing and you want to help, contribute to the ultimate goal by donating to a
charity like UNICEF (go there directly, don't trust charity links you're not sure of).
We dislike the word altruism because the payback is
a peaceful mind and wonderful karma. And as a practical matter world hunger could end up empoverishing us all,
and more than just morally. Do it for the selfish reason that helping others will enrich you; indulge your empathy;
provide a pragmatic goal for your inner helmsman so "what's in it for me?" doesn't come up.

I believe I offer a unique package: age, fitness, and a slothful background. I have a unique motivational approach, 'Energy Focused Exercise' and
a history to support it. I have literally hundreds of hours of video going back to about 2002. I can demonstrate stamina and agility unusual for someone my age with
a sedentary lifestyle and background. I can demonstrate in detail that JumpRock and Heavy Hula Hands can constitute a full body workout. If you look at the videos
on YouTube, you can tell I'm in better shape and jump rope better now than in February, just four months ago.
My 'hooks' of course are my age and JumpRock, but the other important difference is I have no background in the fitness industry.
If fitness is your 'thing', you don't really understand
people for whom exercise is a drag that sooner or later defeats their good intentions. But that's my background exactly, the only difference being
a few flukes in my life experiences, starting with a bizzare and totally mystifying incident of what I now realize was euphoria in
army basic training that put me on a course to connecting quality of life, whether you're sedentary or not, to energy, and energy to exercise.
Even then, I still hated exercise so much I couldn't do it through self-discipline; then I lowered the amount of physical effort required to qualify as a workout and
raised the standard on frequency. Once I did that, I got it all, though I had no idea of that at the time. Going in, I
was ok with just being lethargic in the evenings except it made studying tedious; so I only planned to keep up the exercise routine as long as computer school
lasted. But within a few weeks I wasn't content with lethargy anymore because I had become accustomed to feeling 'good' instead of just 'ok'. That's lasted
for 30 years as of October 2008 and it's changed my life entirely, all for the better. So, the only life experience you need to share with me is the transition
from mechanically fulfilling a simple commitment everyday to really experiencing the difference between before and after often enough and consistently enough to
really internalize the benefit.
I'd like to just keep doing what I'm doing and gradually build credibility until I get noticed by someone who can really
help me make a difference but
we have to put more time into hustling up business for our day jobs as web programmer and designer. When I
first realized how much fun jumping music to could be if you just kept it up until you got fairly good at it I was absolutely positive that it would just take off
when people saw that a 55 year old man (now 61) could do it and obviously have fun at it. It seems I was overly optimistic. The schedule has already slipped on my
ticker-tape parade.
It sounds corny
to say this is my destiny, and I generally think people make their own. But it's hard to think otherwise given my history of indolence by preference and the way I stumbled across the connection
between exercise and energy and how to exploit it and then started jumping rope at age 55.
Now I'm in the best shape of life, no thanks to excellence on my part. So I'm not
boastful about my fitness, but grateful and anxious to share my good fortune with as many people as I can. I never dreamed daily "exercise" would ever be fun for me, that
I could jump rope this well with no end to the creative possiblities in sight, or that I would be in this kind of shape at my age. If I couldn't have dreamed it, then there have to be millions of people who could accomplish the
same thing but just don't realize the possibilities: most importantly, fitness and health in the long run, but best of all on a day to day basis, the fun and energy.
