-
Keep beginning sessions short to avoid frustration and soreness, you'll learn
faster because muscle memory will take over.
-
Learn to land soft from the beginning to avoid joint impact.
-
Think of each leg as an articulated spring extending from toes to top of
hipbone.
-
After damping the landing, jump immediately; don't recover and then jump.
-
Form a platform between the ball of your foot and your toes. You land on the
ball and the toes provide balance
-
The higher you extend the back of your foot, the more agility you have.
-
Once you learn to jump with two feet together, experiment with hopping side to
side slightly as if you were parallel skiing.
-
Try catching the beat in your hips instead of your feet.
-
Begin learning to alternate feet, then do multiples on each foot. Once you can
alternate doing two jumps on each foot, you can basically "dance" to almost any
song.
-
When introducing something new, just do it briefly and infrequently, your
muscle memory will take over and gradually you'll just incorporate the move
automatically
